How does it work?

To pay your purchases in 3x with no costs, you must be the holder of:

  • A citizen card issued by the Portuguese Republic (with the exception of the citizen card under the Porto Seguro Treaty);
  • A debit or credit card, of the Visa® or Mastercard® networks, issued by an institution authorised to operate in Portugal and with a validity equal to or greater than thirty days from the end of the chosen reimbursement period. Payments of instalments shall be made exclusively by debiting the bank card indicated by you.

  • Yes, it is free. It has no interest or charges associated with it. It is designed to make life easier for people who want to shop at IKEA.pt. If you are charged a fee, you should check the situation with your card-issuing bank.

  • To pay in 3x with no costs, you must be the holder of a citizen card issued by the Portuguese Republic, with the exception of the citizen card under the Porto Seguro Treaty, and a debit or credit card, of the Visa® or Mastercard® networks, issued by an institution authorised to operate in Portugal and with a validity equal to or greater than thirty days from the end of the chosen reimbursement period.   • Payment of the instalments is made by debiting the bank card you used for the purchase. The first instalment is charged at the time of signing the contract and the remaining every 30 days.

    If you have used your credit card, the payment will be recorded on your card statement, and the amounts used with your card will be settled on the date you have agreed with the card-issuing bank.

  • To ensure the smooth running of the process, you will not be able to change it. The day of payment of the instalment is fixed from the day of entering into the contract and cannot be changed.

    If you are unable to pay your instalment on time, please contact us by telephone on 808 913 434 (national landline call), available Monday to Friday, from 9am to 8pm and Saturdays and bank holidays from 9am to 1pm, or by email to suportecliente@oney.pt.

  • As an alert measure, you may be notified by Oney of the occurrence so that you can resolve this. And if the payment of the instalment is not accepted and, as such, does not occur on the day contractually provided, the situation of your card or bank account must be normalised as soon as possible, through the immediate provision of funds and/or change of the associated bank card.

    Please note that for each instalment that is overdue and unpaid, a recovery fee will be charged.

  • You can associate debit or credit cards of the Visa® or Mastercard® networks, issued in Portugal by institutions authorised in Portugal and with a validity equal to or greater than thirty (30) days from the end of the chosen repayment period. Check with your bank if your card allows you to make online purchases, namely if the 3D Secure service is active, and make sure you have sufficient funds for the payment of the first instalment. Prepaid cards, or cards only from the Multibanco network or private cards are not accepted. Merchant type MB NET cards are accepted, with a validity equal to or greater than thirty (30) days from the end of the chosen repayment period, and which are generated with the total amount of the purchase.

  • The definition of the main payment card is there to make your life easier. In other words, it allows you to define and associate a main bank card for future purchases in your 3x 4x Oney account on oney.pt, so that you don't have to enter the corresponding information every time you make a purchase.

  • When the validity of your card expires, or if it is lost, stolen or defective, you should access your 3x 4x Oney account on oney.pt and indicate the new card.

    Please note that, to avoid costs for recovery of the amount owed, the change of card should be made prior to the charging of the next instalment, with a limit of up to 48 hours prior to the charging of the instalment.

  • First of all, you should contact IKEA to check which procedures are in place for this, as well as the applicable legal deadlines.

    Then, if the item replacement implies a change in the value of your purchase, this will be reflected in your contract, with the value of the instalments being recalculated according to the new purchase value. Finally, you will receive an email with your new payment plan.

    If the return gives rise to a refund, it will be processed directly to the bank card used by you when you paid for the purchase.

  • The 3x 4x Oney account is your customer area, a space where you can consult all the details of your active and finalised contracts and manage all the information in your client profile, such as updating your personal data and cards.

  • You can activate your 3x 4x Oney account at the end of your first purchase process by defining your password to access this customer area. This setting is optional. However, setting the password to access the account 3x 4x Oney makes your next purchase easier and quicker as you will not need to provide your personal and bank card details again.

    Alternatively, you can activate your 3x 4x Oney account via the link sent to you by email within days of your purchase or directly in the 3x 4x Oney customer area. If you choose this option, please enter your email address in the login area to be redirected to the account activation process.

Methods of payment

When applying for the IKEA Family credit card you will need to choose the payment method for use inside and outside IKEA stores that suits you best. Choose one of these options and see below how to pay via interest-free instalments.

End of the month: on the 5th of each month you pay for the value of your purchases from the previous month and can enjoy up to 45 days of free credit. At no additional cost.

Table value: repayment in smooth instalments that decrease as the amount owed decreases.

Variable amount: payment of a percentage of the outstanding balance, at a minimum of 4% and a maximum of 20% (minimum of 15€).

Fixed price: from 15€ per month.

Documents required

Based on the value of your purchase, you can choose between two types of membership: simplified or full.What differentiates them is the credit limit granted of up to €1,500 in the case of the simplified version and up to €5,000 in the case of full membership.

Simplified membership - credit limit up to 1,500€

  • Civil and fiscal identification document;
  • Bank information (proof of IBAN).

 

Full membership - credit limit over 1,500€ euros (up to 5,000€)

  • Proof of income (pay slip from before the month of joining);

Frequently asked questions about the IKEA Family credit card

  • To join the IKEA Family credit card you must be an IKEA Family member.

  • To join the IKEA Family credit card you just need to have an active bank account in any bank. The amount of your purchases and/or monthly card fees will be automatically debited from this account monthly, through the direct debit system.

  • The IKEA Family credit card is a credit card accepted in IKEA stores, at IKEA.pt and in participating stores of the Visa® and Multibanco® networks.

  • You can pay for your purchases at IKEA stores immediately by using the digital IKEA Family credit card provided at the time of membership.

  • You will receive the final card at home and, for security reasons, you must activate it through your home banking, available on the Oney App or at oney.pt. After activation, you must select the option to send the PIN so that it is sent to your mobile phone.

  • Whenever you make a purchase in a participating establishment, you must pay attention to the following procedures:

    1. Present the card duly signed, as well as identify yourself when requested to do so;
    2. Check the amount and confirm the transactions made through the use of contactless technology and/or PIN, regardless of whether your signature is also requested;
    3. Keep a copy of the invoice or receipt until you receive your statement.
  • Yes, you can withdraw cash from any ATM in Portugal and worldwide, this service is subject to a fee. 

  • Yes, you accumulate reward keys on purchases you make with the physical IKEA Family credit card. To do this, simply register your purchase with the QR code on the back of your card. If the purchase is made through the digital card, you will need to swipe your IKEA Family card to enjoy these benefits.

  • The important dates for IKEA Family credit card transactions are:

    • Statement period closing date – the 20th of each month;
    • Date of payment of the monthly card fee - the 5th of each month.

    Example: for purchases made between 21st September and 20th October, payment will be made on 5th November according to the chosen method.

  • To manage the card account 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, simply access your homebanking, available through the Oney App or at oney.pt, and you will have access to the last 6 account statements, as well as other information about the credit limit, balance used, available balance, list of recent transactions, among others. The available balance is the difference between your credit limit and the amount used (purchases, balance transfer, ATM withdrawals, payment for services, expenses and taxes, not yet paid).

  • It is an authentication code used to access the following Oney contact channels:

    • Phone
    • App
    • Website

    This code will be sent to you by SMS after joining the IKEA Family credit card.

  • Additional payments received by Oney between the 1st and the 19th of the month will repay the outstanding capital. If you wish to pay your monthly instalment in advance, Oney must receive the payment between the 21st and before the last 5 working days of the month. To make additional payments use the entity and Multibanco reference indicated on your statement, use the Payshop service or send the cheque or postal order to Oney, in which case you must clearly identify all your customer details.

  • Purchases you make with the IKEA Family credit card, in IKEA stores or at IKEA.pt, may be changed to an interest-free instalment payment method 72 working hours after the purchase. This change must be made in your home banking, through the Oney App or at oney.pt (in the manage menu and in the change payment method functionality). You must consider the following dates to change the payment method:

    • Purchases made between the 1st and the 20th of the month may be modified up to 2 working days before the end of the month;
    • Purchases made between the 21st and 31st of the month may be modified up to 2 working days before the end of the following month.
  • In the event of loss, theft or robbery of your IKEA Family credit card, you must immediately access the home banking, available on the Oney App or at oney.pt, select the option card security - loss/theft and report the situation, making a request for replacement and ensuring the immediate cancellation.

With financing of between €1,500 and €20,000, the IKEA credit line allows you to give new life to any room in your home. With all the flexibility, you can split the purchases of greater value that you make in IKEA stores or at IKEA.pt.

You can subscribe the IKEA credit line at any IKEA store, just make sure you are an IKEA Family member. After approval, you have 4 months to use the credit limit assigned and make the purchases you want.

Methods of payment

When subscribing to the IKEA credit line, you need to choose the base mode of payment. Thus, you can choose to pay monthly 4%, 5%, 15% or 20% of the amount owed. But remember that the minimum amount to be paid per month cannot be less than 15€.

About 72 hours after making purchases, you can change the payment method, if you wish. To do so, log in to your homebanking at oney.pt or the Oney app and change to any of the following available payment methods.

Documents required

To join the IKEA credit line, you must present the following supporting documents:

  • Civil and fiscal identification document;
  • Proof of bank information (IBAN) in the name of the holder issued less than 90 days ago;
  • Proof of income prior to the month of subscription (e.g., 3 pay slips);
  • Proof of permanent address issued less than 90 days ago (e.g., receipt of water, electricity, communications or gas);
  • Proof of fiscal address, if different from the permanent address.

  • The digital account is available by SMS, as well as in your homebanking on oney.pt or on the Oney app.

  • At any time and from anywhere, just log in to your homebanking at oney.pt or at the Oney app and you have access to the last 6 account statements, list of the last movements, among other information. 

  • It is an authentication code which is used to access the following Oney contact channels:

    • Website

  • The important dates relating to movements on the IKEA credit line are:

    • Statement period closing date - the 20th of each month;
    • Monthly payment date - the 5th of each month.

    Example: purchases made between September 21 and October 20, the payment is made on November 5 according to the chosen method.

  • You can only change your purchases made with the IKEA credit line to interest-free instalment terms 72 hours after the purchase date. This change must be made in your homebanking at oney.pt or at the Oney app (menu ‘gerir' and functionality 'alteração modalidade pagamento').

    In addition, you should consider the following dates to change the payment method:

    • Purchases made between the 1st and the 20th of the month may be modified up to 2 working days before the end of the month;
    • Purchases made between the 21st and 31st of the month may be modified up to 2 working days before the end of the following month.
  • Additional payments received by Oney between the 1st and the 19th of the month are amortized to the outstanding principal. If you wish to advance your monthly payment, Oney must receive the payment between the 21st and before the penultimate day of the month. To make the additional payments use the ATM reference and entity indicated on your statement, as well as the Payshop service.

    If you prefer to send a check or postal order to Oney, you must clearly identify all your customer data and it must be received by Oney 2 working days before the 20th.
